Use this to help children share their worries by writing them on the dry wipe boards in the kit. Once the worry is written down The Worry Wiper wipes them away – illustrated on the reverse of the dry wipe board.
This kit contains a pack of discussion cards enabling the child to consider their worry and what they want to do with it. These cards give the child permission to talk about how they feel. We have included questions about what makes the child feel worried, something, some place, some one… this could potentially lead to safeguarding issues so we have also included cards about the importance that some secrets need to be shared.
There are a series of cards available for the trusted adult to go through with the child in relation to what they could do with their worry.
This includes planning ahead, breaking tasks down into smaller steps, writing the worry down and other techniques.
Use the dry wipe board to help the child make some decisions and choices.
Also included are a series of cards for the child to use saying ‘I need to talk to you’.
It is not always possible to stop there and then and the child needs to know that their feelings are important so we have also included cards that say ‘Yes, come and see me at….’ These are promise cards that you will listen to the child at a particular time/place.? A photocopy template is included to make more of these cards yourself.
The two write on wipe off boards are double sided. The Worry Wiper receives the worry when the child writes it down on the board.? The opposite side of the board is an image of The Worry Wiper wiping away the worry.

I have used this with two children in my class who have constant worriers. The poem worked well and both children wanted to write their worries down and wipe them away. I love the concept of the ‘I need to talk to you’ and the teacher promise cards. I don’t have to let the child down because I cannot talk then and there, but they know I want to listen. Great idea and I would certain recommend this product, have already ordered 2 more for 2 other classes. Class Teacher, Bedford
