Zak the Zebra is on the autism spectrum. His friends enjoy playing together but are concerned that Zak doesn’t want to join in. He doesn’t say much and doesn’t like it when others come too near. Zak’s friends learn all about the autism spectrum and adapt their activities to ensure he is included.
The book uses engaging animal characters within the story to explain how autism may present and is designed to encourage children to be more inclusive in their play.
This book is also available in a set of 3 with our other story books and as part of our Inclusion Programme with accompanying resource book and CD-Rom.
Each book uses Widgit Symbols throughout to support understanding and to ensure the book is inclusive to all children.
